About Us

Dale Leggoe’s interest in costumes spans over many years. Her involvement in amateur theatre in the 1970s led her to designing and making many of her own costumes.

In the mid 1980s a move to Karratha, in the north of Western Australia, Dale started her first costume hire business.  With the birth of her second daughter she was obliged to sell, retaining only a few.  In 1991 Dale joined Methodist Ladies’ College as wardrobe mistress to the Theatre Arts Department.  She designed, produced, catalogued and maintained a very large costume wardrobe for some wonderful musicals including: The Sound of Music, The Wizard of Oz, several Rock Eisteddfords and many other major productions.

In 1997 the Leggoe Family transferred to Brisbane and the hobby continued with Dale “lending” costumes to family and friends.  In  June 2003 Costume Connections was registered and for the last 8 years Dale has worked tirelessly to add to her collection.  Costume Connections has been professionally operating from her home in Manly for four and a half years.  Her husband, Cliff, daughters Alex and Tori and their partners and friends have assisted Dale as models for her many costumes.  Each costume is photographed, catalogued and placed in themes to simplify the choices available to her clients.

We now have approximately 4000 costumes in sizes 6 to 24 and a large range of wigs, accessories and costumes for sale.  These include wigs, moes, beards, glasses, hosiery, masks, hats, braces, ties, gloves, jewellry, head gear, medallions, stethoscopes, and weapons.
